Tom Feltenstein, founder and CEO of the Power Marketing Academy, West Palm Beach, Fla., will provide tips on using "Neighborhood Marketing" to increase sales and profits, in his presentation "Thinking Small, Acting Locally." The Kansas City Direct Marketing Association monthly meeting is on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Homestead Country Club, 6510 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, Kan. Registration begins at 5:30 with dinner at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $30 for members and $45 for nonmembers. The evening is also Student Night, with area university marketing students attending as guests.
Considered a marketing guru, Feltenstein is the author of 11 books, including "401 Killer Marketing Tactics to Increase Sales, Maximize Profits, and Stomp Your Competition" published in 2005. A popular speaker, he's also traded barbs on "The Late Show With David Letterman" and appeared on "The Larry King Show." He has counseled many Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders, including Ben & Jerry's, Texaco and Hyatt Hotels.
