DATABASE CONSULTANT ALAN WEBER TO SPEAK AT KC DIRECT MARKETING ASSOCIATION MEETING

(KANSAS CITY, MO.) ... Alan Weber, a database consultant based in Kansas City, will speak on "Cross-Selling Is Up-Selling," during the Kansas City Direct Marketing Association monthly meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Homestead Country Club, 6510 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, Kan. The luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. costs $30 for members and $45 for nonmembers.

Weber will explain how to turn buyers into advocates by moving them across sales channels. He will include case studies on how organizations learned to avoid organizational silos and to use cross-selling to promote loyalty and sales growth. The president of Marketing Analytics Group in Kansas City, Weber is a past president of KCDMA and co-author of "Desktop Database Marketing."

Workshop

Following the luncheon, Steve Trollinger will present a workshop from 2 to 4 p.m. on "The Ins and Outs of Promotions," covering techniques for selecting, testing and measuring promotions as part of effective marketing campaigns. He is senior vice president of client marketing for J. Schmid & Associates Inc., Merriam, Kan., and a multiple Ambit award winner.
