(KANSAS CITY, MO.) ... The Kansas City Direct Marketing Association will present a lunch-and-learn workshop on "How to Enter an Ambit and Win," from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Southwestern Association headquarters, 638 W. 39th St., Kansas City, Mo. Cost is $15 and includes a box lunch.

Presented in March, the annual Ambit awards recognize companies for excellence in direct marketing in more than 20 categories, including mail, broadcast and Internet marketing campaigns.

Chair of the 2004 Ambits Elizabeth Usovicz, Kessinger Consulting Associates, Lenexa, Kan., will moderate a panel discussion by past Ambit winners Sarah Cline, Bernstein-Rein Advertising, Kansas City, and Steve Trollinger, J. Schmid & Associates Inc., Merriam, Kan.
