(KANSAS CITY, MO.) ... Doug King and Christopher Ashe, marketing specialists with the United States Postal Service, will present "Putting New Postal Regulations to Work for You," covering techniques for improving the effectiveness of direct mail, during the Kansas City Direct Marketing Association monthly meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Homestead Country Club, 6510 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, Kan. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $30 for members and $45 for nonmembers.

King is a direct marketing sales manager in Evergreen, Colo., with the Western Area of the USPS. He is a graduate of St. Paul (Minn.) University and is a certified direct marketer. He co-created the "Return on Marketing Dollars" software program patented by the USPS. Ashe is a marketing specialist with the USPS Product Management-Flats group in Roslyn, Va. A graduate of American University in Washington, D.C. he previously was regional sales manager for Asia and the Pacific Rim for the USPS International Business Unit.

Workshop
King and Ashe will also present a workshop from 3 to 5 p.m. with tips on "Maximizing Your Investment in Direct Mail." They will provide the latest information on Customized Market Mail, the Post-It Note program, CONFIRM and Friend-to-Friend mail.
