The KCDMA has selected Literacy Kansas City as it's community service project for 2006/2007. The mission of Literacy Kansas City is to advance literacy among Kansas City area adults through direct services, advocacy and collaboration.
KCDMA Needs Your Help for our Philanthropy
This year the KCDMA Community Service Committee is coordinating an ongoing direct mail campaign to enable Literacy Kansas City to increase indiviual donations to help support their ongoing mission.
The direct mail campaign will consist of a series of mailings to both existing donors as well as prospective donors from the KC metro area. Donations will be used to pay for Literacy Kansas City's new larger facility, and their educational resources. Direct marketing efforts are scheduled for November and May with the possability of adding additional campaigns. The first mailing "Literacy Kansas City's Holiday Appeal" went out at the tail end of November 2006, and a second drop is scheduled to go out at the end of January. There will also be a "Graduation Appeal" that is scheduled for May 2007. Volunteers may assist with creative ideas, print, database management and content. The next meeting with Literacy Kansas City is scheduled for February 2007. Our objective is to assist Literacy Kansas City in developing an ongoing direct marketing program to support their existing events as well as interim campaigns. Our goal is to increase their annual individual donations.
