Description: A leading international direct mail marketer based in Kansas City is seeking an experienced web programmer to build an eCommerce site.
Job Summary:
The Web Programmer is responsible for programming an ecommerce solution for the company's products. The web site will allow registrants to register themselves. The Web Programmer will be assisted by our Marketing team in terms of functionality. Experience with online Lead Generation a plus. The website will allow customers to register themselves.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities*:
- Results oriented web developer who can hit the ground running without constant supervision.
- Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., MySQL); experience with database-driven website development and shopping carts
- Analyze and review company requirements; defines site objectives and builds an efficient ecommerce web site.
- Integrates applications by designing database architecture and server scripting; studying and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers.
- Test the web site based on established testing procedures to ensure multi-browser compatibility.
- Assist Marketing Team in development of add-on Lead Generation pages and help lead the Marketing team develop organic search for the site
- Constantly interact with Marketing regarding spec changes and with the Database Programmers regarding database set-up/changes
- Provide support for all website applications.
*Will perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Degree in Computer Science or related field and/or equivalent work experience. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE writing JSP pages, HTML, SQL, Javascript, Web User Interface Design, Web Programming Skills and an understanding of relational database programming. An aptitude for requirements analysis and resolution, good communications skills and the ability to work independently without direct supervision while exercising independent discretion and judgment and creativity in applying complex knowledge of computer programming techniques and computer languages.
